Raising Consciousness for Personal and Planetary Harmony

April 20 2007        Vol 12

Spread love everywhere you go. First of all in your own house, give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to your next door neighbor. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier, be the living expression of God’s kindness. Kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.”

Mother Theresa

Notes for Sun in Taurus

Taurus is the sign that consolidates the boisterous Aries energy. Aries thrives with new adventures and forever expands outward. Taurus comes along to consolidate and center these adventures. Because it relates to survival, Taurus savors what it already possesses.

Taurus’ assets are material, such as personal belongings. They also include inner resources, which can be talents, or acquired knowledge and skills. In order to sustain our lives we all rely on what we have established. The more self-sufficiency we accrue, the more self-empowered we are. For Taurus these resources have great meaning. As a result, certain beliefs are generated. These beliefs reflect Taurus’ individual values.

Taurus tends to take these values to an extreme of getting caught up in its own world. Everyone’s resources are limited. Some may have immeasurable wealth, but they lack health or happiness. That’s why it is important to look to other people and society for balance and sharing.

Because Taurus staleness also leads to laziness, it can degenerate into doing only what is most necessary to get by. There is no growth and no challenge within this pattern. In order to break through stagnation, Taurus people need to look at the limitations their value systems imply. This often is enforced by intense confrontation. The spouse may betray them with someone else, or some external dynamic beyond their individual control threatens their material resources.

Once Taurus learns to ask why these rather unpleasant or perhaps even cataclysmic experiences have occurred, it begins to understand and eventually overcome its naturally implied limitations. Instead of hanging on to its own views and values, this sign learns to expand its world by merging with other’s and their material, emotional, mental or spiritual resources. Sharing its own and receiving from others becomes the vehicle that allows for even greater inner and outer resourcefulness.
