Forecast for May 2012

If you found the last month busier than expected, be prepared now for things to slow down. Of course some of us choose to swim against the stream no matter what. The point of a forecast, however, is to describe the planetary dynamics so we can be prepared, and helped rather than hindered in our daily pursuits. The natural flow of events now calls for consolidation. Thus our discoveries, completed actions and our accomplishments are given the time necessary for stabilization and integration. 

Although restricted freedom may feel psychologically irritating, know that by slowing down the new can take root. Personal understanding will peak around the middle of the month. Over time deeply internalized realizations become more pronounced, which results in an overall strengthened disposition. Introspection is the breeding ground for self-reliance, self-sustaining action and self empowerment. Like the roots of a tree, the strength of contemplation rests on the solid foundation of stillness or non-action. 

Venus starts her 6 week journey of retrogradation on May 15. This too can help us relate more deeply and intimately with ourselves. Improvements and changes we’ve made during the Mars retrograde period can now more easily be integrated. Have we incorporated our newly emerging desires, and are we pursuing them actively? Have we really let go of what we no longer want? Do we keep honoring those desires that are still worth fulfilling? Are our values changing because of these changes? If so, how are they reflected in our beliefs and ideals? 

Venus retrograde also presents us with a fantastic window of opportunity to re-meet people from our past with whom we have unfinished business. This also pertains to circumstances relating to others with whom we may have had significant relationships in past lives, but where something was left undone. In order to help the evolutionary process, it is important to listen to what others have to say, even if we feel unduly judged or criticized.  Rather than engaging in a self assertive struggle, we want to keep in mind that we cannot know for sure what has led to the current scenario. Remaining neutral and available ensures a positive outcome. This could release the karmic bondage and conclude the destined past. 

Of course we can also meet again others with whom we have the privilege of reaping good karma. Out of the blue new friendships may be struck up, or we could find ourselves attracted magnetically to someone we’ve just met. But then again, have we really just met? During this time it is best to act from a place of utmost integrity no matter what the situation at hand. For example, we do not want to start an intimate relationship with someone unless we are free to do so. If we are already involved, we will create an additional karmic debt relative to the existing connection. So it is important to openly communicate what is occurring. Slowing down and reflecting on our choices works especially well in the beginning of this Venus retrograde cycle. It is good to make a continued conscious effort to listen as well as to express clearly what we want to say. Towards the end of the month open communication becomes a stronger asset. 

General Forecast Guidelines

Planets move at different speeds and therefore create constantly evolving relationship patterns. These complex interplanetary dynamics emanate specific mitigating or exacerbating energetic qualities. Astrologers trace these planetary energies and interpret their meaning. My forecast is not based upon the Sun’s journey through the zodiac, which of course does not coincide with the calendar month. Instead I look at all the planets and synthesize a picture of their synergistic dynamics for each month. This interpretation applies to everyone, because its exclusive concentration is on the current planetary positions in the sky. This differs from personal forecasts where current transits are linked with a person’s natal chart. Knowing the general planetary trends helps to conduct business and personal life for maximum performance and success. It is simple; if we do not direct ourselves wisely, the planetary energies end up riding us haphazardly.

By utilizing the dynamic interplay of the planets we exercise our birthright. Thus we experience a sense of mastery over our destiny. Rising above the immediacy of circumstances leads out of earthly conditions that are subjected to planetary pressure. By aligning with the universal current for spiritual guidance we can further this quest to an even greater extent. Choosing a belief system that makes sense on a gut level, and consistently following its corresponding spiritual practice remains my utmost recommendation.
